Growing up in the German Black Forest, I spent most of my time in the woods foraging for mushrooms, catching small bugs and reptiles, and self taught how to catch wild fish from small streams and ponds. My father is a biologist, so he taught me to love the science behind nature, and it has stuck ever since.
My passion for fishing has guided me trough life since I was 5 years old, and I am thankful for my father being so patient with me and teaching me so much along the way.
After moving to the US in 2008, it wasn’t until 2015, when my friend, Brian got me back into fishing! We have since explored, and self taught many of the fishing opportunities that I show you in my videos.
The Van
My favorite way to travel to remote fishing destinations is with my Ford Econoline camper van! After converting it and featuring it in several YouTube episodes, it quickly became a popular part of the show! I am always working on this baby and dream of living on the road full time one day. YouTube & now...
On April 2nd, 2019, I started NWFS with my first upload! The original intent for my channel was to create fun & educational fishing videos as a creative hobby, so that one day I could look back at the adventures I lived in my youth. It wasn’t until the channel started quickly growing in late 2019, that I realized my passion for fishing, nature, and videography could be shared with the world. I am now pursuing a dream career which I would have never thought could exist back when I was a kid catching small wild trout in those German Black Forest streams…
